Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in Miami is proud to present the Gay Men?s Chorus of Washington D.C. in concert on Friday, July 10th at 7 pm. ?It has been a historic few weeks in the United States, and here in Miami we are looking forward to celebrating another first - the first LGBT Awareness and Advocacy trip to Cuba from the United States,? says Rev. Grey Maggiano. ?Trinity Cathedral is proud to host the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington and prouder still to be involved in this kind of work, striving for the justice and dignity of all people.? With the Supreme Court ruling in favor of marriage equality last week and President Obama today announcing the resumption of diplomatic relations with Cuba, there's never been a more appropriate time to welcome the Gay Men's Chorus of Washington to Miami as they make their way to the Caribbean. SAVE is so proud to partner with Trinity Episcopal Cathedral on this event, and we commend their dedication to the LGBTQ community and to highlighting the importance of LGBT rights around the globe. The Chorus will perform a number of concerts in Cuba, and will meet with both government officials and community representatives to talk about LGBT rights and equality issues. Recently the GMCW has made a commitment to working with LGBT youth who face discrimination through their GenOUT program, which is establishing LGBT friendly singing programs in schools and communities across the Washington Area. This performance in Miami will be held at Trinity Episcopal Cathedral in the downtown Omni District at 464 NE 16th. Street in Miami, FL. Tickets are $5 for general admission and available both at the door and for advanced sale at www.ticketleap.com.
